Kettering Street Pastors To Receive Proceeds From Kettering Awards

The charity to receive the proceeds of this year’s Kettering Business Awards, sponsored by The Kettering Ritz Complex, has been announced.

This year, the Kettering Street Pastors will receive the proceeds of the annual event which takes place next month at the Kettering Park Hotel & Spa and celebrates the success of local businesses.

Street Pastors patrol Kettering town centre every Saturday night and other major party nights until 3am, providing help and support for everyone who needs it, regardless of their circumstances.

Founder Simon Cox said “We were all delighted when the Kettering Street Pastors were pulled from the hat to receive the proceeds of this year’s Awards. Having witnessed first-hand the voluntary work and what the Kettering Street Pastors give to Kettering Town Centre, we look forward to raising funds for them.

“Having joined the team on a night out myself in my role as Vice Chair of Kettering Town Centre Partnership, I can assure you, the Kettering Street Pastors are a huge asset to the town centre and we should thank them all for what they bring to ensuring people are safe on their night’s out at weekends.”

Rob Webb, Coordinator of Kettering Street Pastors, said:

“We’re celebrating our tenth anniversary this year and being named as the charity partner of the Kettering Awards is the best birthday present we could have hoped for.

“We’re a registered charity and don’t receive any statutory funding, so this generous donation will ensure we can continue our vital work helping everyone enjoy a great night out and get safely home.”

The Kettering Awards, now in it’s third year, has raised over £2,000 for Johnny’s Happy Place and Kettering Community Unit since the first event in 2018.
